Hi guest -

I would imagine that you won't really see "all of us" there. Enjoy...

I sure remember how I used to egg on the Admin. It's fun, but the Admins and I have come to an unspoken understanding now. Wink

Though I am a supporter of the Wal-Mart, I'd have to disagree with post made by "guest". I'd yet not rank Wal-Mart as the best store in Hartford. In fact probably quite to the contrary. Impressive yes, but surely not the best. Wal-Mart is a cookie cutter store, while the dowtown area businesses are great due to the history of the buildings many are in, and the unique set up of many of the stores. "Guest" is entitled to his or her opinion though which we have to respect. Even myself, one of the elder online keyboad opponents of the HCRG, wouldn't consider Hartford Wal-Mart the best. However, some HCRG supporters have been spotted there taking advantage of falling prices while the rest shop at the ones closer to their actual towns. Razz j/k admin

Hi Robert -

Yes, there has been some lively debates, and I think we have all come to an understanding that it is okay to disagree, and have lately even come to agree on some items, especially when they don't have to do with Wal-Mart.

I'm sure there will be more lively debate on issues concerning our city. We are all looking forward to it.

Admin is right- there are other things to focus our attention on from here on in. A little joking around isn't too bad about the Wal*Mart now, but we still have to keep tabs on the future of our great city and the issues all of us need to be aware of.

Happy Easter & remember to always take care of Your neighbors- we're in this for the long haul.

I would agree with you, Robert on this point you made to "guest". I love the downtown stores and the character that they lend to the City. I grew up in a larger suburb of Milwaukee that had a downtown area much like that in Hartford, complete with the JcPenny on the corner (I would love to see one of those stores again!). There is much to be said about that area.

However, being the busy person that I am, I also need some conveniences in my life, which is why I support moderate growth when it comes to business -- big or medium scale boxes. I work more than 65 hours some weeks and trying to coordinate my shopping and errands can get a little tedious and tiresome. I welcome the Wal Mart to Hartford. I've been there a few times now, it's a nice store -- nicer than the one in West Bend; each time I've been there, it's been well kept up (clean), the employees are friendly and I can get what I need when I need it without scheduling a trip. But it is, as you say convenience. when I want to send a gift to family or friends, I am more likely than not, to venture downtown (when I have some spare time) to find just the right thing.

Thanks.
