When asked why not wait until the spring election to run for 1st District Aldperson, Ms Hatch replied " if you have a tooth ache, you don't wait to take care of it" (or something to that effect). Is Ms Hatch or HCRG comparing Ald Lokken to a tooth ache? If Ms Hatch has been so concerned about Hartford, where has she been hiding all these years?? Why has she never volunteered her time to any commissions, boards or committees?

HCRG has been asked numerous times to bring forth proof and examples of how Alderperson Lokken and Isleb failed to perform their aldermadic duties, or how they have been unresponsive to their constitutents as they have been accused of, and still HCRG has not proven a thing. What's the old saying........... Innocent until proven guilty...........I guess you all never heard of that one. It's so easy to spread rummors and tell lies, but when asked to back up your statements with proof, that is where HCRG has come up short every time.

If I went out and polled all 3 districts in the city right now, I bet the results would say that HCRG has been a major tooth ache to this community since it's inception and not our current alderpersons.

I live in the 1st district, and Lokken has my vote!

As reported on www.jsonline.com:

"Ald. Jacki Lokken fended off recall challenger Jan Hatch tonight, outpolling the political newcomer by nearly a 5-to-1 margin."

Evidently more constituents of the First District feel the same way, that "Lokken is the right choice on Nov 21st"

In that same article, it was further reported that the turnout was 17.64% of the 2,977 registered First district voters.

Although I am somewhat surprised by what in my opinion is a smaller turnout than I anticipated, I am very pleased with the result. Very Pleased.

Thank You J.K. for the information and well written and intended posts!

I only hope that this once again serves notice to the HCRG that the biased and ill-logical views they have does not truely represent the views of the majority of Hartford residents, tonight in particualr District 1. Out of respect and maturity, I would also have to thank the administrator of this forum for allowing (somewhat) other viewpoints, and counter response. I did take into consideration all viewpoints, information, and posts for my knowledge on this entire subject - but honestly and happily will condone that todays/tonights results are truely what I was expecting. Congrats and Thank You to Jacki Lokken for representing me and my family. You have our sincere praise and approval.

I also ask the HCRG to please, for the sake of the community, stop waste of tax payer monies by instigating further actions. This clique surely, in my opinion, has to stop degrading itself - purely in an effort to stop a much needed resource to the community of Hartford and surrounding areas. I've seen nothing but your resources (good or bad) go towards the stopping of a Wal-Mart store; entirely a place in-which when built, You have the right not to patronize based on Your personal reasons or agenda.

I whole-heartedly do not mean to chatise anyone (HSRG supporters) or bring negative feeling to your groups efforts. Though I do reflect on the fact that there are possibly other aspects and situations whithin the community that the group could bring and use better judgement towards and vitalize other components of our fine local government that would benefit all Hartofrd residents.

I also thank those whose ideas, beliefs and offerings here matched myself and my families; by account and continued results..... the purest citizens for responsible government and proper growth of this community.

Now I leave you with this.... regardless of which direction we seek, or which future we all behold for the city or our leaders - I ask that we all do share our most inner thoughts that yes, we are all human - and have the right to speak and uphold our thougts on this matter and future matters. All I ask is that we do all agree that no matter what - tried and true - in the long run, in time of need, we'd all stand side by side.

Thank You for the privelage, space and viewpoint. And yes, again I do display my pleasure with this current outcome, I wish everyone during this very special season.... a peaceful, safe, fun and enjoyable holiday season. God Bless.

First of all to both Ms. Lokken and Ms. Isleb - congratulations on your victories. You both have an obviously strong support base in your districts - a tribute to your dedication to the office you hold.

To the posters above:

Thank you all for the respect, honesty, and debate you have offered over the last several weeks and months.

We too are somewhat dissappointed at the turnout at the polls, although 500 in both districts is a very respectable turnout, and is higher than in most elections. We are also dissappointed that neither of the candidates that we supported brought forth the issues on which we had hoped they would have driven their campaigns. But that is now water over the dam.

The HCRG has plenty of things on its plate that we will be bringing to the community, and will be looking for support - hopefully yours. On some of the issues, we know that we will be in opposition with many of the members of the common council - like the continued uncontrolled annexation and development of land. On others, like a west-side reliever route, the city is sure to get support from the HCRG.

And in the future, when issues arise that are bound to be controversial, we will extend the expenses of these recalls as a reminder to the common council to not let that happen again, and use the referendum as a tool to 'sell' their position to the people of Hartford, and confirm that there is support in advance (by the way, we still really don't know for sure how the people of Hartford stand on the Wal-Mart issue).

Stay tuned for more...and thanks again!
